Woman injured, multiple displaced in South Side apartment fire, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Chicago Fire Department is investigating a fire that left multiple people displaced late Sunday night.



The fire happened at an apartment complex at about 10:15 p.m. in the 600 block of E. Woodland Park Avenue, police said.

Chicago police and the Chicago Fire Department responded to the fire; no first responders were injured.

Two adults were able to exit the building without any injuries.



A woman was taken to the University of Chicago Hospital for smoke inhalation. At last check, police said she was in fair condition.

Three people were displaced from the fire.

CFD is investigating the fire.
