LANSING, Ill. (WLS) -- A Chicago man has been convicted of sex trafficking a teen girl in the south suburbs, the U.S. Attorney's Office of the Northern District of Illinois said.

Prosecutors said Kennard Cameron, 40, recruited a 15-year-old girl to engage in commercial sex acts in a Lansing motel in 2023.

Cameron photographed the girl wearing lingerie and in the nude and posted the photos online in commercial sex advertisements, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors said after Cameron arranged for encounters with people who responded to those ads, he and another person required the girl to give them the proceeds.

A federal jury convicted Cameron of one count of sex trafficking of a minor and one count of conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking of a minor on Wednesday.

Cameron faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years and a maximum of life in federal prison. His sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 16.
