Chopper 7 was over the chase just after 5:30 p.m. It traveled from the Northwest Side to the West Side. Police cars did not appear to be in pursuit for the entire time.
The car involved crashed into a light pole just before 5:40 p.m. near Central Park Avenue and West Fulton Boulevard in East Garfield Park, and someone was taken into custody.
The person appeared to be alert and talking.

It was not immediately clear what led up to the chase, but the sedan was seen driving the wrong way down roads at some points.
A Chicago police helicopter was also seen in the area.
There is a large police response on the West Side after the crash.
