Chicago police respond to large gathering of teens in Hyde Park

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police said they responded to a large gathering of teens in Hyde Park Sunday night.

Police and violence interrupters worked to clear large groups of teens near 55th Street and Blackstone Avenue.



Police said a 14-year-old girl disregarded verbal warnings and struck an officer on the forehead.

The officer suffered minor injuries and the girl was charged with felony counts of aggravated battery to a peace officer and aggravated battery/great bodily harm as well as a misdemeanor count of reckless conduct and a curfew violation.
