2 CPD officers, woman, baby taken to hospitals after South Side rollover crash: police

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two Chicago police officers, a 26-year-old woman and 9-month-old baby were taken to local hospitals after a rollover crash on Chicago's South Side Tuesday morning.

A marked CPD squad car was traveling north on State Street after 11:15 a.m. in Chatham, when it collided with the vehicle with the woman and child, who were traveling east on 87th Street, CPD said.



The two officers were taken to a local hospital in good condition for observation.

The woman was taken to University of Chicago Hospital in good condition for observation and the baby was taken to Comer Children's Hospital in good condition for observation, police said.



No other injuries were reported.

Chopper 7 was over the scene near 87th Street and the Dan Ryan Expressway just after noon.

A car was rolled over on the median and a CPD squad car had crashed into the median. The squad car's front end was damaged, and its airbags appeared to be deployed.
