CHICAGO (WLS) -- After going on a grand Chicago adventure on Monday, a rescue will help a sheep find a safe home.

ABC7 captured as animal control officers ran after the sheep near Grand and Halsted in the West Loop.

The animal was finally captured on Monday after dozens of attempts.

"This latest sheep never had to set a hoof inside the shelter," a spokesperson for Chicago Animal Care and Control said.

Animal control said one of their rescue partners opened their doors for the sheep to help find it a safe and permanent home.

"We're glad the sheep is safe and hope it enjoys a long, healthy life," CACC said.
