13-year-old among 2 injured in shooting at Greater Grand Crossing apartment, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 13-year-old boy was among two people shot and injured Wednesday inside of an apartment building on the city's South Side.

The shooting happened around 4:05 p.m. in the 400 block of West Winneconna Parkway in Greater Grand Crossing, Chicago police said.



Two victims, an 18-year-old man and an 13-year-old boy, where inside a residence at an apartment building when an unknown offender fired gunshots from the hallway, police said.

The 18-year-old victim was shot in the neck and was taken to a hospital in critical condition, CPD said. The 13-year-old victim had graze wounds to both of his calves and was taken to a hospital in good condition.



No further information about the shooting was immediately available as Chicago police continue to investigate.
