Man dies after shooting in West Pullman, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man died after being shot Saturday on the city's South Side.

The shooting happened around 4:34 p.m. in the 11500 block of South Halsted Street, Chicago police said.



A 33-year-old man was involved in an altercation with an unknown group of people at the location when someone pulled out a firearm and shot him in the chest, police said.

The victim took himself to a himself to a hospital, where he was initially listed in critical condition, CPD said. He was later pronounced dead.



The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified him as 33-year-old Davion Jackson.

No further information was available as Chicago police continue to investigate.
