Man charged in murder of 74-year-old in Auburn Gresham, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 20-year-old has been charged with killing a 74-year-old in Auburn Gresham, Chicago police said.

The shooting happened May 22 at about 1:29 p.m. in the 8100-Block of South Laflin Street in Auburn Gresham, Chicago police said.



74-year-old Fred Winsley Jr. was found with two gunshot wound inside the home, police said.

He died at the hospital.



A 20-year-old man was arrested about four hours later.

Elijah Winsley was charged with murder, police said.

According to police, the 20-year-old lived in the same house where the shooting happened.

He was due in court on Monday.
