The shooting happened at about 3:43 a.m. in the 1300 block of West 13th Street Sunday, police said.
A 38-year-old woman and a person were outside when they began to argue, police said.
Police said the suspect shot a the 38-year-old woman and ran away.
The victim was shot in the chest. She was taken to Stroger hospital, where she died.
CPD did not release any other information about the suspect.
