Woman shot in possible North Side road rage incident, Chicago police and alderman say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are investigating a possible road rage shooting on the city's North Side on Monday morning.



The shooting happened at about 9 a.m. in the 5700-block of North Broadway in the Edgewater neighborhood, police said.

A woman, 23, was in an argument with a man, police said.

The man then pulled out a gun and shot the woman in the left shoulder, police said.



She was rushed to an area hospital in serious condition.

The suspect allegedly ran off; however, police said he was promptly taken into custody.

Charges are pending.

Ald. Leni Manaa-Hoppenworth said in a letter to residents that the incident appears to be possible road rage.



Manaa-Hoppenworth said the woman's injuries were non-life threatening.
