Woman, 66, shot in crossfire while waiting for ride in Englewood

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 66-year-old woman was shot and critically wounded while waiting for a ride in Englewood Tuesday night, Chicago police said.

The shooting took place at about 9:56 p.m. in the 800-block of West 59th Street.



Police said two dark-colored vehicles drove past and suspects inside fired shots at each other.

The woman was caught in the crossfire and shot in the chest, police said. She was transported to the University of Chicago, where she was listed in critical condition.



Area One detectives are investigating.
