CHICAGO (WLS) -- On Sunday, a change took effect for taxes paid on liquor purchased at stores in Chicago.
The city of Chicago is requiring retailers to collect a 1.5% tax on those alcohol sales.
The new percentage-based tax replaces what had previously been a per-gallon rate of tax.
The change was pushed pack to Sunday from January 1 to allow businesses time to adjust.
