Several cars damaged after debris falls from pickup truck on Edens Expressway

DES PLAINES, Ill. (WLS) -- Several cars were damaged after debris fell off a pickup truck on the Edens Expressway Wednesday morning, the Illinois Department of Transportation said.

The incident occurred in the northbound lanes of the Edens near Touhy Avenue.



IDOT said leaf springs apparently fell out of the back of a pickup truck and the truck kept going.

Several cars got flat tires and busted oil pans, IDOT said. Crews were able to clear the debris onto the shoulder and all lanes are open.
