2 hurt after crashing into utility pole on I-57 on Chicago's South Side, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two people were hurt after crashing into a utility pole on I-57 early Wednesday, Illinois State Police said.



The crash happened at about 5:55 a.m. on the northbound lanes near 103rd Street.

ISP said a red Tesla and a white BMW crashed and also took down a utility pole.

The pole ended up blocking multiple lanes of I-57.

Chopper 7 was over the crash on Wednesday on I-57.



Two people were taken to an area hospital with injuries. ISP did release the extent of their injuries.



I-57 had extensive delays on Wednesday morning due to the crash.
