CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago is celebrating 100 years of Route 66 with a new official starting point.
Navy Pier will now mark the beginning of the iconic highway, creating a pier-to-pier route from Lake Michigan to the Pacific Ocean.
A ceremony at Navy Pier will include a dedication of the new Route 66 sign, live music, classic cars and the annual Harry Caray toast.
The event is happening March 25.
