CHICAGO (WLS) -- The City of Chicago says bus companies that dropped off migrants from Texas starting in 2022 owe the city more than $440,000.

The city sued dozens of bus companies, claiming they failed to comply with Chicago's municipal ordinance.

The ordinance states a bus company must have authorization from the CDOT commissioner to unload passengers.

The city reached settlements with 15 companies and had default judgements issued against 12 more.
