Attorneys for the family of 42-year-old Derek Jordan of Chicago are launching an investigation into his death in the Chicago Police shooting. The body camera video comes from several angles, and parts of it may be disturbing to watch.
The shooting happened in March in Humboldt Park.
Chicago police started following the white car after it linked to a reported shooting. Police say the car hit a pedestrian then a CTA bus and a police car before a police officer opened fire.
ABC7 has frozen the video right before the gunfire erupts.
Derek Jordan died in the shooting.
The police officer who fired the shots has been stripped of his police powers as the Civilian Office of Police Accountability continues to investigate.
Two officers were also taken to a hospital in good condition. COPA says a weapon was recovered on the scene.
Lawyers for Jordan's family say they've opened a civil investigation of their own.
