Damaged rail on southbound CTA Red Line tracks forces reroute

CHICAGO (WLS) -- CTA Red Line trains headed south to 95th were temporarily rerouted Tuesday morning to the elevated tracks between Fullerton and Cermak-Chinatown.

Trains were rerouted around 9 a.m. due to a "damaged rail" at the Grand station, officials said. No injuries were reported.

Red Line trains headed north to Howard were not affected.

Southbound trains resumed normal service through the subway around 11 a.m. with residual delays.
