BATAVIA, Ill. (WLS) -- A west suburban chiropractor accused of secretly recording his patients has pleaded guilty to producing and disseminating child sexual abuse material, officials announced Thursday.

A grand jury has indicted the former chiropractor in February, the Kane County State's Attorney's Office said.

Hanson was arrested Nov. 5, 2025, after an investigation by the Batavia Police Department and the Kane County State's Attorney's Office's Child Exploitation Unit determined Hanson "secretly videotaped patients, including children, as they undressed in his office."

The Kane County grand jury returned a 76-count indictment against David Hanson on Feb. 20.

He was charged with:
  • Creating Child Sexual Abuse Material, Class X felony (19 counts)

  • Disseminating Child Sexual Abuse Material, Class X felony (24 counts)

  • Reproducing Child Sexual Abuse Material, Class X felony (1 count)

  • Possessing Child Sexual Abuse Material, Class 2 felony (22 counts)

  • Unauthorized Video Recording, Class 4 felony (10 counts)

In court Thursday, Hanson enter guilty pleas for the charges of producing child sexual abuse material and disseminating child sexual abuse material.

Investigators say Hanson secretly recorded patients, including children, as they undressed at his Batavia office between 2016 and 2025.

Hanson's next court date is set for November 10.
