K-pop fans take over Chicago for BTS World Tour 'Arirang' at Soldier Field

CHICAGO (WLS) -- K-pop fans were spotted lining up early ahead of the sold-out BTS World Tour concert at Chicago's Soldier Field on Thursday.



Chicago emergency officials are warning about big crowds and traffic closures this weekend.

By 7 a.m. fans were spotted at Soldier Field lining up for merchandise. The store will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.



The K-pop group is expected to draw tens of thousands of fans Thursday and Friday night.



Here's a sneak peek at the stage:



Solder Field parking lots open at 4 p.m. Gates to the show open at 6 p.m. and showtime is 8 p.m.

For those planning to use public transit, the CTA #146 Bus & #130 Bus, the CTA L Station at Roosevelt, and the 18th Street Metra Station all lead to Soldier Field.



The venue has a strict bag policy, so its best to be prepared:

Clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags are accepted; they must not exceed 12" x 6" x 12" or 30.5 x 15.25 x 30.5 cm.

No buckles, grommets/hardware or décor can be concealing any part of the bag.

One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag. Logo can only be on one side of the bag.

Small, non-clear bags that do not exceed 4.5" x 6.5" in size, with or without a handle or strap can be taken into the stadium with a clear plastic bag.

Non-clear backpacks are NOT permitted.

Fans might even be able to see the partial lunar eclipse happening Thursday night.

Other events happening this weekend are the Chicago House Music Festival & Conference at Millennium Park, Taste of Greektown, the PAWS Chicago 5K Walk/Run for Their Lives, Edgewater Music Fest, Edison Park Fest, The Fray & Dashboard Confessional at Huntington Bank Pavilion, Cincinnati Reds vs. Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field and the Navy Pier Summer Fireworks.
