2 women found dead in Bucktown ID'd; police investigating

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A death investigation is underway after two women were found dead on the city's Northwest Side on Friday afternoon, Chicago police said.

Police said the women were found unresponsive in the Bucktown neighborhood's 2300-block of North Leavitt Street around 2:30 p.m. Both were pronounced dead on the scene.



The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified them as 36-year-old Shirley Miller Colon and 40-year-old Taina Lopez Rios.

How the women died was not immediately clear. Police classified the incident as a death investigation pending autopsy results.



Authorities did not immediately provide further information.
