Naked man arrested, charged with physically, sexually assaulting 3 women downtown DeKalb, police say

DEKALB, Ill. (WLS) -- A naked man was arrested and charged after at least three woman were physically and sexually assaulted in downtown DeKalb, Illinois, police said.

Police responded around 1:15 p.m. Thursday to the DeKalb Public Library, 329 Oak Street, for calls about a man physically and sexually assaulting a woman.



When officers arrived, more emergency called reported another woman was being assaulted near the DeKalb Farmer's Market.

Police located a suspect in the assaults in the downtown area, who had removed his clothing and was complete naked as he was arrested, officials said.



A total of three female victims were located in the area who were sexually or physically assaulted. Two of the victims were taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The suspect who was arrested was taken to a hospital for a "narcotic medical evaluation," officials said.

Officials identified the suspect as 33-year-old Maurice Kemp II

The DeKalb County State's Attorney's Office approved charge for Kemp, including Attempt Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault, two counts of Attempt Criminal Sexual Assault, Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse and two counts of Criminal Sexual Abuse.
