DEA names Shane Catone as new special agent in charge of Chicago field office

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The ABC7 I-Team has learned there's a new special agent in charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration's Chicago division.

Shane Catone is a 22-year veteran of the DEA. He will now lead the division that covers Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin.



Last week, the I-Team reported on the retirement of Sheila Lyons.

The Chicago native and Bradley University graduate made history as the first woman to lead the Chicago DEA field office.



Her retirement came as a new DEA report provided a snapshot of cocaine concerns and new trafficking trends nationwide, with Illinois high on the list.
