The crash happened around 5:15 p.m. near Grand Avenue in Streeterville, Chicago fire officials said.
Multiple ambulances and police squad vehicles could be seen responding to the crash in the northbound lanes.
Chicago fire officials said four people were taken to hospitals in serious to critical condition, including a child.
