CHICAGO (WLS) -- Members of a church in the city's Englewood neighborhood held a prayer service Saturday morning to take a stand against city violence.
The service was held near Rhema Revealed Worship Center at 69th and Racine. Church members prayed over police officers, giving them strength to be in the community.

"We wanted to pray specifically for them because we know that they're doing their job in our community and we want them to go home safe to their families, go home safe to their children, their wives," said Pastor Larry Jones.
They say they feel that the community violence has to stop. During a previous church fundraiser, someone opened fire outside the church. Police told the church that often times after a shooting like that, no one talks - but the church members feel that that needs to change.
"It's time for the churches in the city of Chicago to actually be effective and actually do more for our community, for our children, for our mothers, for our men - it's time for us to do something about it," said Sanyea Johnson, a prayer leader.
The prayer follows two rallies held Friday in the Englewood and McKinley Park neighborhoods.
