ESPN ranks suburban teen among top high school basketball players in the country

OSWEGO, Ill. (WLS) -- A young basketball player is making Chicago proud as he climbs up the national basketball recruiting rankings.



Oswego High School's Ethan Vahl is just a sophomore but he's already cracked ESPN's top 25 rankings among high school point guards in the U.S.

The same ranking lists him 3rd in the state of Illinois.

He also has history with ABC7.



In 2018, 7-year-old Vahl met ABC7's Terrell Brown in Aurora.

Then-7 year old Ethan Vahl in 2018 meeting his favorite ABC7 Anchor Terrell Brown with Ethan's mentoring group, Boys II Men.



Terell was visiting Vahl's mentoring group "Boys II Men."

Vahl has since grown - he is now 6-foot-2-inches tall.
