Video captured the flames at 630 E Joe Orr Road in Chicago Heights in the morning hours.
The Chicago Heights Fire Department is on the scene on Saturday afternoon and says the fire is impacting an isolated area, only burning auto salvage hulks and tires.
The burning tires are sending massive plumes of black smoke into the air.
No injuries have been reported.
What caused the fire was not immediately clear.
