HARVEY, Ill. (WLS) -- Fire ripped through an abandoned building in south suburban Harvey Wednesday morning. Authorities said the structure was a total loss.
Firefighters responded to the blaze near East 153rd Street and Lexington Avenue around 6 a.m. The two-story building was fully engulfed by flames.

Crews worked to contain the fire, to keep it from spreading to homes and a church nearby. No one was hurt.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
