Crash involving school bus, pedestrian impacting traffic in Frankfort: police

FRANKFORT, Ill. (WLS) -- A crash involving a school bus and a pedestrian is impacting traffic in the south suburbs on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Frankfort police said the crash happened on Aberdeen Road west of Harlem Avenue.



There is a heavy police and EMS presence in the area. Police asked residents to avoid the area, adding that extensive delays are expected.

Chopper 7 was over the scene, where investigators were working near a stopped school bus.



What led up to the crash was not immediately clear.

Authorities did not immediately provide additional information about the crash.
