Woman, man dead after being shot several times while leaving Fuller Park gas station: CPD

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two people died after being shot several times while leaving a South Side gas station on Monday evening, Chicago police said.

Police said the shooting happened in the Fuller Park neighborhood's 200-block of West Pershing Road around 6:30 p.m.



A 25-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman were leaving a Mobil gas station when three suspects inside a silver Nissan sedan approached them, police said.

Police said the suspects took out guns and fired shots before fleeing eastbound in their sedan.



The man suffered 12 gunshot wounds to his body, and the woman suffered six gunshot wounds to her body, police said.

Both victims were transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead. Their names were not immediately released.

No other injuries were reported. Area One detectives are investigating.

Authorities did not immediately provide further information.
