17-year-old boy shot to death at Hampshire home, suspect arrested, police say

A teenage boy was shot to death in the west suburbs on Saturday night, police said.

Hampshire police said officers responded to a report of a shooting inside a home in the 100-block of High Street around 11:30 p.m.



Responding officers found a 17-year-old boy who had been shot. He died at the scene, and his identity has not yet been released.



Police later arrested a suspect in connection to the death, 20-year-old Keyshaun D. Davis of Hampshire. He has been charged with Involuntary Manslaughter, Endangering the Life or Health of a Child, Reckless Discharge of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm without a FOID card, Possession of Ammunition without a FOID card.

Davis is being held in the Kane County jail pending an inital court hearing, Hampshire police said.
