1 pedestrian killed, another critically wounded in Hanover Park crash: police

HANOVER PARK, Ill. (WLS) -- One man died and another was critically injured after being hit by a vehicle in Hanover Park over the weekend, police said.

Police responded about 9 p.m. Saturday to the area of Irving Park Road and McKool Avenue for a reported crash.



When police arrived, they found a 46-year-old Hanover Park man and a 36-year-old Streamwood man in the road.

They were taken to a nearby hospital, where the 46-year-old died, police said.

The 36-year-old is in critical condition.



Police said the vehicle was driving east on Irving Park Road, when the men tried to cross the road.

The driver of the vehicle stopped on the scene.

Police continue to investigate the fatal crash.
