How to help rescued beagles from Ridglan Farms in the Chicago area

Updated 3 hours ago
CHICAGO (WLS) -- The country has come together to help give rescued beagles a second chance at life.

Border Tails Rescue in Northbrook recently took in 27 beagles from Ridglan Farms.

Earlier this month, more than a thousand beagles were removed from the Wisconsin dog breeding and research facility.

Big Dog Ranch Rescue and the Center for a Humane Economy negotiated a confidential agreement to purchase the 1,500 dogs for an undisclosed price from Ridglan Farms.

The dogs are evaluated and neutered when they arrive to Border Tails Rescue.

Most of the foster families are looking to adopt, however, applications for and foster adoption are open.

"They don't need special care, they need a loving home," said Tami Brubaker with Border Tails Rescue.

Brubaker said most of the dogs are getting used to their new lives.
