An I-355 construction project in the western suburbs will begin Thursday night.
Workers will widen a stretch of I-355 in Woodridge. An extra southbound lane will be added between 71st and 75th streets.

Most of the preliminary work will be done at night, which begins 9 p.m. Thursday.
The more significant work that could affect commuting in that area begins in a couple of weeks.
