INDIANAPOLIS (WLS) -- Cellphones are set to be banned in Indiana classrooms for the entire school day.

Governor Mike Braun signed the legislation Wednesday.

Braun said the new "bell-to-bell" restrictions will ensure students are focused on learning.

The law does provide exceptions including emergencies and for certain students with disabilities.

It covers usage of cellphones, smartwatches and gaming devices.
