The shooting happened at at East 79th Street and South Ingleside Avenue in Grand Crossing.
The block was filled with officers from corner to corner Friday night. Chicago police confirmed that it was a shooting involving police.
Chicago fire officials said two people were shot at the location, and one person was in fair condition and another was in serious condition.
Sources told ABC7 the person in serious condition was shot by Chicago police. ABC7 is working to find out who shot the other person.
Chicago police officials have only confirmed there was a police-involved shooting and said no officers were injured in the incident.
People living on the Grand Crossing neighborhood street looked through their windows to find emergency lights and sirens blaring. Their block became the scene of a shooting involving at least one Chicago police officer.
CPD officers quickly descended to the location with initial reports heard on police scanner of shots fired at police.
The Civilian Office of Police Accountability is expected to lead the investigation into the officers' actions.
