Man facing drug and weapon charges after Joliet shelter-in-place order

JOLIET, Ill. (WLS) -- A man is now facing several charges after an incident in Joliet where people were told to shelter in place on Thursday.



Police conducted an investigation in the 400-block of Garnsey Avenue at about 9 a.m.

Officers said they executed a warrant in a drug case at the home of Sebastian Gates. He was detained at the scene.

Police say they found a gun, ammunition and suspected drugs at the home.



Gates is now facing several charges, including possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.

Shortly after 10:30 a.m., police said the order was lifted.
