Before a new episode drops Wednesday night, Joelle Garguilo sat down with two of the stars, including Kaia Gerber, whose supermodel mom Cindy Crawford dominated the fashion scene of the '80s.
Now, Gerber is tackling that same era, with some salacious twists.
Reflecting on the show's first episode, Garguilo asked Gerber and co-star Graham Campbell what inspired them to go into acting.
Campbell told Garguilo that he was considering going to school for musical theater, but something struck him when he saw "Beautiful Boy" and "Call Me By Your Name" back to back.
"I was so struck by the work Timothee Chalamet did and I thought, if you can do this, maybe I could try to figure it out too," Campbell said. "That made me want to go to drama school."
Gerber said she was inspired by Tatum O'Neal's performance in "Paper Moon" after watching it with her father as a child.
"(O'Neal) is so young in that and so incredible," Gerber said. "She can do that, maybe I can do that and then I watched 'Woman Under the Influence.'"
"And that's not something I will ever pretend to be able to do, but I was like, I will be in constant search and in seeking of an experience that's as transcendent as Jenna Rolland is in that movie," Gerber added.
Garguilo asked the actors what's the most '80s thing about each other. Gerber commented on Campbell's hair.
"The only other time I've seen hair like this is 'Blue Lagoon,'" Gerber said.
Campbell said Gerber has a "real timeless quality."
"I feel like you could be a cover star in any era," Campbell said.
Garguilo asked the pair what they want everyone to know about "The Shards." They both agreed that it's their favorite TV show.
"If I was not a part of it, I would feel the same way," Campbell said. "I think it's one of the most exciting things made in the last decade."
"Don't watch the finale before bed if you live alone because it spooked me and I'm in it," Gerber added.
