Manhunt continues after employee shot, killed at business in Lansing, officials say

LANSING, Ill. (WLS) -- The search continues Friday morning after an employee of an automotive paint business in Lansing was killed in a shooting.

Police believe this was an isolated and targeted shooting.



Officers were called for an active shooter at Nippon Paint Automotive Americas at 170th and Oakwood in Lansing Thursday afternoon.

When police got to the scene, they said they found the male worker dead with a single gunshot wound. Investigators said the suspect ran away.



Neighbors described seeing the massive police response. People were forced to stay indoors for hours

It's unclear if the suspect is an employee at the automotive paint business.

The business is expected to remain closed Friday as the investigation continues.

More details on the manhunt are expected to be released Friday.
