Police said officers on routine patrol saw a vehicle that matched the description of a wanted car in the Lawndale neighborhood's 3800-block of West Harrison Street just after 3 a.m.
When officers tried to stop the car, police said, the driver tried to flee and struck a CPD van. The driver then tried to flee on foot but was taken into custody.
The driver was taken to a local hospital for injuries suffered during the crash.
Two officers were taken to a local hospital and have since been treated and released.
Investigators recovered a weapon, and charges are pending.
Police did not immediately provide further information.
