Vehicle crashes into fitness facility at strip mall in Libertyville, fire officials say

LIBERTYVILLE, Ill. (WLS) -- A vehicle slammed into a strip mall in the north suburbs Saturday afternoon, causing damage to both the car and the building.

Police and fire crews responded to the scene of the crash along Peterson Road in Libertyville.



The car hit the side of a fitness facility, which the assistant fire chief says was closed at the time of the crash.



There was no word yet on any injuries to the driver or anyone else.



The cause of the crash is under investigation.
