Police said they responded to a report of a fight just after noon at a gas station near the intersection of North Avenue and Main Street.
An individual had arranged to sell a car at the gas station, and was abducted, police said.
By about 3:45 p.m., police found the suspects and the victim in Chicago, and took the suspects into custody, police said.
The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment, and remained there Thursday.
Philip Stamps, Sr., 47, of Chicago; Philip Stamps, Jr., 22, of Chicago and Joevontae Dixon, 23, of Hillside have been charged in the incident, the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office and Lombard police said Thursday.
They're all charged with aggravated kidnapping with a dangerous weapon, armed robbery and aggravated battery in a public place.
Stamps, Jr. is accused of punching the victim in the head, and Stamps, Sr. is accused of driving the victim from the scene against his will.
Officials said the men took the victim's belongings into their minivan, forcing him to approach it to grab them.
Eventually, the victim was forced into the minivan, which traveled down Interstate 290 to Chicago.
Officials said the men threatened to kill the victim and his family, and beat him.
The victim tried to escape, but was beaten and bitten, when he failed, officials said.
The vehicle was eventually pulled over in a traffic stop.
The men were granted pre-trial release during a court appearance Thursday morning.
They're next due in court Dec. 2.
If found guilty, all three defendants face a penalty of between six to 30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
