Man hit in head during Northwest Side armed robbery: Chicago police

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 20-year-old man was hit in the head during an armed robbery early Tuesday morning on Chicago's Northwest Side, Chicago police said.

The man was outside in the 6000-block of North Tripp Avenue in the Sauganash neighborhood about 4 a.m. when a dark-colored sedan approached, police said.



Two male suspects got out, flashed guns and demanded the man's property, police said.

One of the suspects hit the man about the head before taking his things, CPD said.

The suspects then got back into the sedan and drove south.



The man called police from Bucktown, and declined medical treatment.

No one is in custody, and Area Five detectives are investigating.
