Police said a 56-year-old man was standing outside in the Gresham neighborhood's 900-block of West 87th Street around 9:25 p.m. That's when two male suspects took out guns and fired at him from a distance, hitting the victim in the buttocks.
Someone drove the victim to a hospital in a white sedan, police said. Before arriving at the hospital, however, they crashed into a dark-colored sedan near West 95th and South Loomis streets.
The man shot was listed in fair condition.
The dark-colored sedan's driver, a 40-year-old man, was transported to Little Company of Mary Hospital for pain in his left arm and is listed in fair condition.
The man driving the white sedan was not injured.
Authorities did not immediately provide further information.
