Man stabbed on CTA Green Line train on South Side, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man was stabbed on a CTA Green Line train on the South Side Thursday night, Chicago police said.

The incident occurred at about 10:45 p.m. in the 300-block of East 47th Street.



Police said a 44-year-old man was on a train car when a suspect took out a sharp object and injured the victim before fleeing.

The victim was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was listed in fair condition, police said.



Area One detectives are investigating.
