CHICAGO (WLS) -- As Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson kicked off his reelection campaign - a video of him dancing is generating plenty of attention online.

On Sunday, Johnson was seen dancing in a campaign video that has since gone viral on social media.

The mayor began to receive negative comments and criticism for releasing the video on a violent weekend that included a deadly mass shooting in Humboldt Park.

Johnson defended his record on gun violence and pointed fingers at the Trump administration.

Johnson is heading into a crowded 2027 race, with several challengers already looking to unseat him.

Chicago voters head to the polls in February.

Chicago police said this weekend 21 people shot, three of them were killed.
