CHICAGO (WLS) -- Metra trains were delayed in and out of Chicago's Union Station due to Amtrak switch problems Wednesday evening, and it will also impact the Thursday morning commute.

Metra expects delays on the BNSF, Southwest Service and Heritage Corridor lines Thursday morning.

There was a mess at Union Station earlier Wednesday evening as Metra said Amtrak switching problems caused delays.

Those problems now expected to affect the morning rush on Metra lines as well.

ABC7 Chicago's morning team will be tracking the latest, starting at 4:30 a.m. Thursday
