Bulls select Chicago native Matas Buzelis with 11th overall pick in NBA Draft

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The NBA Draft got started Wednesday night.

The Chicago Bulls selected Matas Buzelis with the 11th pick in draft's first round.



Buzelis is a 19-year-old basketball player in the NBA G League. He was born in Chicago and attended Hinsdale Central High School.

Scouting report: Exploits matchups, scoring over smaller defenders and driving past bigger ones. Can attack off the dribble or score on stepbacks. Averaged 2.1 blocks with a 6-10 wingspan. Shot just 27.3% on 3s. McDonald's All-American who bypassed college basketball.



University of Illinois college basketball star Terrence Shannon Jr. was the 27th overall draft pick, going to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

According to ESPN Radio's David Kaplan, Shannon's future is bright.





Kaplan said Shannon's draft prospects were helped by his acquittal earlier this month in a sex assault case in Kansas.
