It's located at 18230 Orland Parkway, just west of La Grange Road.
In July, Orland Township trustees voted to close the Secretary of State's office at Village Hall, over parking and safety concerns. That location closed Friday.
At that time, Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias promised to find a new location, calling it a disservice to residents.
Monday, local officials opened the new temporary SOS office in Orland Park.

The Secretary of State's Office has a one-year no-cost lease with the nonprofit organization CTF Illinois, which helps those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
"Our new Orland Park DMV is bigger and will offer more services to accommodate more southland residents," Giannoulias said. "It is conveniently located just 5 miles' drive south on LaGrange Road from the old facility, and right off of the I-80 Expressway."
Other towns and municipalities offered locations. But, for now, the office will be there with extended hours, more parking and more services, like road tests.
It also has protections in place for the nonprofit's clients.
"At the other door is secured, there is a person there at all times, as well, to ensure that if anyone were to come to the door, they would be address and let them know this is not the main entrance of the DMV," CTF Illinois President and CEO Tony Barrett said.
Motorists waited outside for it to open Monday.
"Today's an exciting acknowledgement, albeit not one we were not quite expecting in July. But our new DMV is better and will offer more services," Giannoulias said. "This was a total team effort and a win-win-win for DMV customers, for southland residents and for Illinois taxpayers."
Giannoulias and other local officials joined in a ceremonial ribbon cutting.
"We are here to serve; I'm thrilled that this came together as quickly as it did," Orland Park Mayor Jim Dodge said.
Some people said they were concerned they may have to go far away to get Secretary of State services.
"We'd have to go downtown for something; it was very inconvenient, or probably Joliet. But it worked out well, great facility," Mokena resident Bill Ladas said.
"They were forcing us to go to Joliet or Markham. Why? Think we pay enough taxes they should be open here. So having this facility? It's awesome," Homer Glen resident Sally Jewel said.
Others said they didn't know about the switch and went to the old location Monday, but found the new location an easy alternative.
"When went to the other place, so they tells us we have to come here. They give me the address, and I'm here in 10 minutes. But it's fast very fast in this office," Orland Hills resident Adeeba Khan said.
The new location also has longer hours: 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.
